Cooking with the seasons – Summer – Plum sauce/dressing
Cooking with the seasons makes the food so much more flavorful! I'm starting to see fresh plums at the grocery stores and that reminded me of last Summer when I made some fun (and delicious!) experiments with plums.
And the colorful results!!
Who doesn't love some tasty & beautiful looking food?
I love, love, love ginger, it's one of my favorite ingredients to combine with different fruits, so I had to try some ginger-plum combinations, this one was my favorite:
🌿 2 black plums
🌿 ½ cup soaked cashews (for a couple hours to soften the cashews)
🌿 Piece of fresh peeled ginger, about 1 Tbsp of chopped ginger
🌿 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar (or white wine vinegar or rice vinegar)
🌿 ¼ cup of water
🌿 1 date
Blend everything and add more water if the sauce is too thick. You can use a hand blender.
